Where there's muck, there's magic - that's what Tom says. Using good topsoil is
very important. You can spend £200 on new plants only for them to fail because
you've planted them in either a neutral multipurpose compost or in reclaimed,
stony, cheap topsoil. Remember - topsoil for the ground, multipurpose compost
for containers.
Our topsoil is lovely. Of course we'd say that, but it's true. We'll even send
you a sample. Try not to eat it. It's a gorgeous, squidgy, loamy medium, with
little bits in it to give it body. We've planted thousands of plants in it - our
landscape division uses hundreds of tons each year, and they love it.
We can supply our topsoil loose, but we prefer to deliver it in a ton bag. You
might call it a dumpy bag. Some people call it a builders bag. Tom's mum calls
it a white bag with four handles that needs to be lifted off with a crane. Lot
of common sense, Tom's mum. The good thing about ton bags is that they’re tough,
reusable and take up less space on your driveway. Which is nice.
If you'd like to see a copy of our soil certificate, which proves that our
topsoil conforms to the British Standard, click

. Tom's mum has one framed
in her bathroom. Lot of common sense, Tom's mum.
